The Women's 5K Walk/Run will be back in 2022 heading out on the streets of Launceston on Sunday 11 September. The virtual event is also back and will be on for the month of September - wear pink and support from anywhere in the state.
Thanks to everyone who joined us for the 2021 Women's 5K from City Park Launceston and across Tasmania. Your amazing efforts resulted in $120,000 raised for Cancer Council Tasmania.
The Women’s 5K is a fun/run event that sets out from Launceston’s City Park and through the city streets, on the second Sunday in September. Everyone is encouraged to come along dressed in pink and walk or run the event. We also hold the event virutally so people can partipcate from all over the state/nation.
The Virtual Event is for the person who wants to participate in the Women’s 5K Walk Run from any location (other than Launceston CBD). Whether you participate solo on your treadmill, with your team at the local running track or at the beach with you dog – the options are endless!
This event supports and encourages health awareness for all Tasmanians, and also raises vital funds for Cancer Council Tasmania’s support and research programs. Each year, the Women’s 5km Walk/Run brings together thousands of men, women and children of all ages, backgrounds, levels of fitness and accessibility in celebration and remembrance of life.
Cancer Council Tasmania has a mission to reduce the incidence and impact of cancer on all Tasmanians, and Women’s 5k Walk/Run also delivers on this mission – you can support and sponsor your friends and family to take part, or participate yourself! Join as a team or an individual – run with your work mates, or walk with your kids! Everyone is welcome to take part. Please note this is a smoke free event.
