The 2020 Women’s 5km Walk Run is a virtual event open to all Tasmanian residents and visitors. All participants are asked to run or walk 5km during the event weekend, 11-13 September.
This event supports and encourages health awareness for all Tasmanians, and also raises vital funds for Cancer Council Tasmania’s support and research programs. Each year, the Women’s 5km Walk/Run brings together thousands of men, women and children of all ages, backgrounds, levels of fitness and accessibility in celebration and remembrance of life.
Cancer Council Tasmania has a mission to reduce the incidence and impact of cancer on all Tasmanians, and Women’s 5k Walk/Run also delivers on this mission – you can support and sponsor your friends and family to take part, or participate yourself! Join as a team or an individual – run with your work mates, or walk with your kids! Everyone is welcome to take part.
Registration for the 2020 W5km is $25 for all participants. By registering, you will receive a fundraising page that you can link to your fitness app and social media.
After event weekend (11-13 September) you will receive a medallion recognising your participation, and a certificate of thanks.
You can opt in to receive training and health tips, join a team or register as an individual participant, and and create your own fundraising goal
To register, head to the registration page and get started on your Women’s 5k journey.
Raise $200 through your own fundraising efforts and you will receive a free Women’s 5km Top!*
As Cancer Council Tasmania is a not-for-profit, all funds raised through Women’s 5k Walk/Run help support our important programs such as transport2treatment.
We encourage everyone to aim to raise a minimum of $200, with your registration fee automatically going towards your fundraising total. We have lots of resources to help you raise the minimum $200, and you will also be set up with a fundraising page that includes a shareable link for your social media and email links to send out to your network.
Every little bit extra you raise ensures more Tasmanians are being supported by Cancer Council.
