FUNDRAISING:
- Participants are encouraged to engage in fundraising activities to support Cancer Council Tasmania. The fundraising portal will close to fundraising for the 2026 event on 31 October 2026.
- Fundraising Incentive Prizes are available to a select number of people by hitting various fundraising targets:
- Solo Fundraising: Incentives are available on a ‘first in first serve’ basis until allocation is exhausted. Incentives available for solo fundraisers: we encourage at least a donation in the first 48 hours to receive a personalised race bib (available to the first 1,000 people to make or receive a donation before the 6th August), raise $100 to receive a buff (available to the first 170 people to reach incentive tier ), raise $250 in fundraising to redeem a HOPE Cap (available for their first 200 people to reach incentive tier) raise $500 or more to receive the 2026 Shirt (available for the first 100 people to reach incentive tier) and anyone who raise over $1,000 will go into the draw to win a prize valued at $350 – specific item to be confirmed (will be drawn when fundraising closes at the end of October 2026).
- Team Fundraising: Incentives are available on a ‘first in first serve’ basis until allocation is exhausted. Including 1x FREE entry to the event, for the first 50 teams to raise over $1,000, a team sign on the 5km route for the first 5 teams to raise over $2,500 (incentive much be reached prior 1 September 2026 to allow time for signs to be printed), and the teams that raise over $5,000 will go into the draw to win a Restaurant Dinner Voucher in Launceston valued at $500 – to take their team out to celebrate participating in the 5km.
- There may be opportunity for other “spot” prizes leading up to and on the day. These are at the discretion of the Event Organisers and are only available in limited supplies and for certain fundraising or other incentives.
- All fundraising incentives have limited numbers and will be allocated as a ‘first in first serve’ basis and subject to availability.
- Incentives winners will be contacted directly by Event Organisers to collect prizes. Prizes cannot be substituted for money and they will be made available at Race Bib Collection at St Lukes, 93 Cimetière Street, Launceston, Saturday 12 September 8am – 2pm and at the event on Sunday 14 September, Launceston City Park between 8:00am -11:00am - othertimes will be at the discretion of the Event Organiser.
- Incentive prizes cannot be substituted for money.
- $ Match Days: Cancer Council Tasmania will run two Dollar Match Days leading up to the Women’s 5km Walk/Run. These $ Match Days will be capped at $9,750 in total matched donations and capped at $200 per donation, with thanks to Verto and ICON Cancer Centre. These $ Match Day dates will be set closer to the event, and all fundraisers will be notified via either email or SMS (if you have provided the correct details).
- Any participants undertaking fundraising activities must abide by Tasmanian Legislation as per the Collections for Charities Act 2001:
- A person under 16 years of age cannot accept donations unless supervised by an adult.
- A person under 12 years of age may only ask for donations if they are under the immediate control of an adult.
- Phone soliciting must not take place before 9am or after 5pm on any day.
- A person must have a Cancer Council Tasmania approved "authority to fundraise” letter PRIOR to soliciting donations. This authority letter can be found on the participants online fundraising dashboard.
