What is the registration fee?

Adult Ticket: $40.00

Concession Ticket:

  • Senior (Over 60): $30.00
  • Under 16: $30.00
  • Student: $30.00

 Children Ticket (under 6): Free (without race bib included)

Virtual Event Fee:  $25.00 (location of choice)

Will there be a physical event in 2022?

Yes! This year the physical event will be held on Sunday 11 September setting out from Launceston's City Park.  More details coming soon but you can register now.

Do I get a free t-shirt?

Shirts can be purchased at the online shop (coming soon) or on the day at the event. However, anyone who raises over $200 gets a FREE W5K t-shirt - so get fundraising :)

My company is keen to support - can they become a sponsor?

We welcome any support and therefore suggest you contact our Event Coordinator, Zoe Vandervelde (zvandervelde@cancertas.org.au) for further information.

Can only women participate?

We welcome participants of all genders, ages, backgrounds and levels of fitness. The Women’s 5km is all about raising vital funds for Cancer Council Tasmania to reduce the incidents and impact of cancer on any Tasmanian. Do it for your mum, sister, aunt, step-mum, grandma, colleague, best friend... Do It For Them.

Is there an age limit to participate?

No - if you can walk or run or be pushed in pram or wheel chair, you are welcome to join in! Please note that in accordance with legislation, there are restrictions around fundraising. Please review the T&C’s for more details.

Are there any concessions on the registration fee?

Do I need to run?

No, you can walk your 5km too! It’s completely up to you and based on your fitness level if you want to walk or run this 5km event. If you have been thinking about running maybe nows the time to start, we have a 12 week training schedule to get you ready for the 5k.

Is there merchandise available?

The merchandise is available to purchase at INTERSPORT Launceston - located on the corner of York Street and St John Street and will be available for purchase on the  day of the event in City Park. 

Will the merchandise be posted to me?

Merchandise ordered online will be mailed to particpants. 

Do I have to register my training kilometres?

No, however we do encourage you to. Our transport2treatment cars drove a total of 238,000 km in 2021 and we challenge the Women’s 5km community to match these kilometres with your training kilometres!

Do I have to join as a team?

You can register as a team or an individual.

Do I have to be in Tasmania to participate?

No, if you are interstate or overseas, you are still welcome to join in our virtual walk/run.

Where can I collect my race bib from?

Race bib collection is available at INTERSPORT Launceston now and will be available at City Park from 8:30am on the day of the event. 

Can I bring my dog to the physical event in Launceston?

Unfortunaley no dogs are allowed at the Womens 5K Walk/Run physical event in Launceston. 

Can I volunteer at the Women's 5K?

Yes! We have plenty of volunteer positions to fill, click here to submit your interest.
